Wednesday 18th of December was a big day here at Puffing Billy. Not only did we celebrate Puffing Billy’s 119th birthday – a huge milestone for this living, breathing, moving museum – but we also honoured the return to traffic of NG/G16 No. 129 on the same date! Purchased in 1996 and in restoration mode for the better part of 23 years, we are immensely proud to finally see the South African Garratt restored and back on the track.

International Volunteer Day

Thursday 5 December is International Volunteer Day. Puffing Billy Railway is one of the largest volunteer-supported tourism organisations in Victoria, with over 600 people giving up their time for the not-for-profit Railway. Marilou Quick has been a volunteer at Puffing Billy for two years.
