Our venues can be hired out exclusively to you, allowing you to tailor your special event.

Add a stylish twist of steam to your next event, with options to charter a train, hire exclusive carriages, or enjoy First Class wine and dine experiences in beautifully restored dining carriages.

Lakeside Visitor Centre

Designed by renowned architects Terroir, Lakeside Visitor Centre is a new state of the art facility that echoes the railway’s heritage without compromising on comfort or amenities.

The soundproof function space features an operable wall, the latest AV technology and a dedicated bar. Enjoy panoramic views of the platform and historic artifact displays or deploy floor-to-ceiling blinds during your event for added privacy. The adjacent Great Hall and alfresco areas are perfect for pre-event cocktails or breakout sessions for large groups.

Function enquiries welcomed for events planned for late 2021 onwards.

Puffing Billy Nobelius Packing Shed

Nobelius Packing Shed

The historic Nobelius Packing Shed is located at Nobelius siding, within the grounds of the stunning Emerald Lake Park, once home to the largest nursery in the southern hemisphere.

This beautifully restored early twentieth century building provides the ideal rustic function venue, with an open fireplace to keep you warm and cosy in winter.

Let your guests be truly immersed in some of Australia’s rarest and most unique railway artifacts as they dine and dance the night away at the Menzies Creek Museum.

The museum is an hour’s drive from the CBD – or board Puffing Billy at Belgrave for an iconic 30-minute rail journey passing over the historic Monbulk Creek trestle bridge and through the forests of the Dandenong Ranges.

New experiences available at Puffing Billy include the Menzies Creek Museum with the Little Toot Café, located within the museum grounds. Activities are available to keep the kids entertained!
