Puffing Billy Railway is a not-for-profit tourist and heritage railway and an iconic attraction for families across Victoria. We are committed to supporting the community and helping children impacted by illness and disabilities to help improve their quality of living by raising funds for research and critical patient care for the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Our aim is to provide inclusive and equitable experiences for all and help families in their hour of need. There is no better charity to support than the Royal Children’s Hospital to help make a difference.
The Good Friday Appeal is a charity that raises money to enable The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne to provide world class care for our children. The Appeal brings all sectors of the community together to raise funds every year culminating in a telethon on Good Friday.
How you can support the Good Friday Appeal

The Puffing Billy Railway Board, operators of Puffing Billy Railway, will donate 50% of train fares for travel onboard the 10 am train from Belgrave to Lakeside station return on Good Friday (Friday 29th March 2024) to the Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal. Please note that all tickets for this train departure are sold out.
