Yes, visitors of all ages (including children under 4) will need an online pre-booked ticket to visit the Railway. You will not be able to book tickets at the booking office or walk-up on the day.

Only return tickets are available and these must be pre-booked online. Tickets will be for set return journeys, which means that the forward journey you select will determine what time your return journey will be. There will not be any open return tickets available. Due to the nature of our carriages, we can only allow a maximum of 28 people per carriage. Visitors can book their own exclusive open-side carriage for groups of 15, offering a unique and private outdoor experience with family or friends. Read more about Carriage Hire.

If you hold an existing special guest pass or gift voucher and you wish to book a visit, please contact our Customer Service team via info@pbr.org.au or call on 03 9757 0700. Please note, you will be required to provide proof of your Special Guest Pass by scanning/taking a photo of the pass and emailing it to the team as well as presenting it on the day of travel.

Carer Cards are not accepted at Puffing Billy Railway; only Companion, Health Care, or Concession Cards are valid for admission.

If you are travelling in a wheelchair, there are limited wheelchair spaces available onboard our heritage carriages. Please call our Customer Service Centre on 03 9757 0700 prior to travelling so that we can assist you in accommodating your needs. Find out more here.
