Puffing Billy Preservation Society is pleased to announce that a collection of rail-interest books and other publications, together with a range of Puffing Billy merchandise, will be on sale at Gembrook station on days when the station is open and trains are operating. In addition to the monthly book sales, a number of publications and Puffing Billy merchandise is available to purchase at any time when the Gembrook station is open and trains are operating.
The Puffing Billy Preservation Society (PBPS) has accumulated a significant number of items from various bequests and donations, which are surplus to the requirements of our proposed Puffing Billy library.
Available at the book sales are large quantities of periodicals, magazines and journals from a wide variety of publishers, mainly Australian, British and American.
Also on sale are dozens of high-quality, rail-interest hard-cover books, many of them rare and hard to find. The majority of these feature American rail transport themes, including the ‘big’ railroad companies and their systems, long-forgotten branch lines, the electric interurban lines and many more topics, ranging from the steam era to more modern times.
These are book and magazine sales not to be missed, so come early and grab a bargain! Items are reasonably priced and all proceeds go towards the costs of maintaining the Climax locomotive, returned to steam in September 2013. A good cause, deserving of your support!
Please note that the book sale will NOT take place on the following days when a Day Out With Thomas is being held at Gembrook.
