We invite you to Puffing Billy for a different experience - travelling First Class!
Share the grandeur and charm of a three hour steam train journey whilst savouring a delicious lunch in our fully enclosed, heritage dining carriages. Enjoy an all gluten free Three Course menu or graze over our Natter Platter followed by scones, jam and cream.
Our friendly train host will welcome you on board the First Class Carriage, where you will sit back and relax whilst perusing the beverage list. A range of local Yarra Valley wines, boutique beers and other beverages can be purchased on board the train.
As the train whistle signals the train's departure, your entrees are served, and before long you will be peeking out of the window to admire the most iconic point of the journey - the historic Monbulk Creek Trestle Bridge!
The journey continues through temperate rainforest as you savour your meal.
Beneath the pressed-metal ceilings of the fully enclosed carriages, you are invited to enjoy the nostalgia of bygone days.
The Steam & Cuisine Luncheon is all about luxury and fun, whilst chugging through dense fern foliage and wide-open fields.
Next up are the mains, which are served whilst you continue your journey to Lakeside Station. This station is located in Emerald Lake Park, which is home to leisurely walking trails, picturesque Emerald Lake, paddle boats and abundant bird life.
You are welcome to disembark the train whilst it sits at the station and explore the park.
Afterwards, the Steam & Cuisine Luncheon commences its return journey whilst you finish off with your dessert and cuppa.
As the train chugs back into Belgrave station, it's time to say goodbye to fellow travellers and our train host before you start planning your next special day out!

AT A GLANCE
The Steam & Cuisine Luncheon departs from Puffing Billy's Belgrave station daily (excluding Victorian public holidays) at 12.30pm. It is a three hour experience, with 45 minutes to spend at Emerald Lake Park before returning back into Belgrave at approx. 3.30pm.
Bookings are essential.
Kindly arrive no later than 12.00pm to allow time to park and make your way to the platform.
Menu Choices for the Three Course Meal
We encourage you to select your menu choices at time of booking.
However, if unsure, please proceed with your booking without selecting any menu choices. Your booking confirmation will provide details about how to advise your menu choices at a later time. Please note that this must be advised at least 72 hours prior to travelling.
Reduced Mobility or Special Needs
Passengers with Special Needs (eg wheel chair access) must contact Puffing Billy's Customer Service Centre on (03) 9757 0700 rather than book online. This way we can determine whether your needs can be accommodated.
Whilst we welcome children in our heritage dining carriages, we can only accommodate children aged 5 years and above. As a result, babies, toddlers and young ones under five years of age, cannot travel in our dining carriages. These age restrictions have been carefully considered in the interests of health and safety.

Fare Inclusions and Booking Deadline
If booking for the next day, please note bookings are only available until 4pm the business day before travel and are subject to availability. The fare includes the train journey, meal, tea, coffee and dinner chocolates. A range of beverages including local wines are available for purchase. A child fare is aged from 5-16 years inclusive. Due to the heritage nature of our dining carriages, the table configurations can seat up to two (2) or up to four (4) people.
If your party consists of more than 4 people, we will do our best to ensure your tables are located close to each other.
Our heritage dining carriages have tables and chairs that are fixed to the floor and cannot be moved. As a result, people of generous proportions could find seating in the dining carriages restrictive. Please note that the distance between the edge of the table and the back of the chair is only 41 centimetres. To ensure you have a positive experience at Puffing Billy Railway we strongly urge you to contact our Customer Service Centre should you have any concerns.
Special Dietary Requirements
