The Climax Twilight Outing on Saturday 7 October 2017 is hauled by Climax locomotive No.1694.
This special locomotive spent 10 years under restoration and returned back to service in 2013. It is the only wood burning locomotive at Puffing Billy Railway and is one of four operational Climax locomotives in the world (the other three are based in the USA).
The Climax Twilight Outing is a fantastic opportunity to gather friends and family for an evening aboard this unique locomotive as it travels through the scenic vista of the Dandenong Ranges at sunset.
The locomotive and its consist of NQR carriages will start from Menzies Creek Station at 5.30pm, and arrive at Lakeside at 7.15pm. Whilst at Lakeside Station dinner will be served on the platform.
The train departs Lakeside Station at 8.15pm arriving back into Menzies Creek Station at 9.40pm (times given are approximate only).
During the evening the train will stop at a number of locations for listening and photographic opportunities - so it's a fantastic opportunity for train enthusiasts!
As the NQR carriages are open sided, we recommend passengers dress warmly.
At Lakeside Station a spit-roast meal with dessert and soft drinks will be available. We are not permitted to serve alcoholic beverages for this special train.
Vegetarian and gluten-free diets can be catered for provided your needs are specified at time of booking.

PASSENGERS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
The train stops in some locations where the terrain can be challenging and no platform is available. As a result, we recommend passengers with mobility concerns remain on the train. Should passengers decide to disembark the train, they do so at their own risk.
