Puffing Billy Railway is one of Victoria’s leading tourist attractions and welcomes visitors from both Australia and overseas. Passenger numbers have been increasing year on year, with families being a key market segment. The Railway is dedicated to the passengers’ experience and to maintaining our popularity as a safe and enjoyable tourist destination.

In this newly created role, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced person for our Train & Passenger Services Division to provide support and assistance to the department’s day to day tasks as required. This full time role will suit someone who is interested in a career in tourism.

Key responsibilities for this role are (but not limited to):

  • Assist the Train & Passenger Operations Manager with a variety of administration and housekeeping tasks as required;
  • Complete shifts in the Puffing Billy Booking Office as required;
  • Assist the Customer Service department with answering phones and assisting the public as required;
  • Utilising your excellent communication and people skills in dealing with volunteers and staff on a daily basis;
  • Ordering supplies for the division.
  • Hands on support for the various Volunteer positions in the department;
  • Manage key registers, filing and reporting for the department as required;
  • Have a can do attitude with no job being too basic.

Key Selection Criteria for this role are:

  • Experience in a similar hands on and busy role;
  • Exceptional organisation and communication skills;
  • An excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite;
  • Demonstrated people skills with the ability to communicate with all business stakeholders including Volunteers and Management.

Previous experience in a similar role combined with your determination to succeed as part of the railway operations will ensure your success in the position.

Salary and conditions commensurate to the successful candidate’s experience will be offered.
